hi,

I've been away from Kung Fu dor awhile. I used to train Jow Ga, which was a mixture of Northern and Southern styles. At the school in addition to the Kung Fu forms and weopons, we also trained tai chi and chi gung. Through my involvement with Kung Fu and other martial arts I got involved in the healing arts. (The only difference is intent, all else force(chi) dynamics and anatomy are the same. I am now a doctor of chiropractic as well, as I would love a style that incorporatd some healing arts.

I have some friends that train Wing Chun with Chris Chan, but am looking for other recs as well.

Thanks,
Michael

  • as mentioned in the thread on hung gar, hung gar emphasizes healing.
or you could try and find a china na or dim mak expert, but they aren't easy to come by, i don't think.

(chin na is locks and holds, like arm bars and wrist locks for example, dim mak is striking at chi points on the body to cause major damage/death)
    • Thank You.

I have studied a small amount of Chin Na and dim mak at my former school. As a chiropractor, I almost practice what could be considered the opposite od Chin na, I move the joints where they want to go. Again they are very similar, force application through an applied understanding of anatomy!!! The only difference is your intent.
